How to Submit your Sitemap To Google

Google is world’s no.1 best search engine. Everybody search using Google to find out their information and I think you are also using Google to search websites and gain knowledge. Submitting your site to Google is really important because it will get people of your niche to reach you.

I am going to show you a way to submit your WordPress sitemap to Google and get indexed. Please note that you XML-sitemap plugin should be installed before. If not please install it before submitting your site to Google.

 

Adding your site to Google

Step #1. Login to Google Webmaster Tools using your Google ID.

Step #2. Click on Add a Site.

Step #3. Enter your URL and click on Continue

Step #4. Now you need to verify your ownership so that Google can know that you are real owner of your website.

Follow below to verify your ownership.

How to Verify your Ownership

For this method you should have the root access to your Blog server. We will upload simple HTML file to verify your ownership of your blog.

Step #5. Download the HTML file

Step #6. Upload it to root of your website. You will need to login to Cpanel to do that.

Step #7. If you have successfully uploaded the HTML file then it should be accessible on the internet, if it is then go on.

Step #8. Click on Verify

Submit your Sitemap to Google

Now you will be at your Site dashboard. Follow the below steps to continue.

Step #9. Find for Optimization and click on it, you will see drop-down menu now click on Sitemaps

Step #10. Click on Add/Test Sitemap

Step #11. Type sitemap.xml and Click Submit Sitemap

Small Tip: You can also use Test Sitemap to test your sitemap is working or not. If you get that your sitemap is not working then either you may have spelling errors or the plugin XML-Sitemap is not installed.
